The Arkansas Razorbacks, before this season, suffered through eight different starting quarterbacks. With the inconsistent play at the quarterback position also came an offense that struggled to be efficient in any manner of the word. In the first two weeks of the 2020 season (Covid Season) it seemed as though the Hogs were still somewhat struggling to find consistency on the offensive side of the football. After a “30-28 loss” to Auburn (SEC Officials), it appeared Briles’ offense emerged.

Briles’ has spent some time with excellent offensive minds to the likes of Art Briles, his father, and Tom Herman. After the UGA and MISS ST. games the questions surrounding the Razorbacks offense still hadn’t been answered and if anything, had only brought about new questions.

After falling early to Auburn, Feleipe Franks and company found some rhythm. We learned that Franks is an exceptional quarterback. He has the ability to make plays with his feet and makes tough throws look easy. With 5:30 left in the game Franks dropped back in the pocket scanning for an open receiver to the right. He went through his progressions working back from right to left, the pressure coming from the outside forced Franks to step up in the pocket where he located Warren with separation. Frank threw a 30 yard strike on the move for a touchdown, giving the Hogs the lead, and it was as beautiful of a pass as any I’ve seen in a long time.

This of course wasn’t the first time Franks and Warren connected for a touchdown. Franks, Warren, and running back Trelon Smith all had breakout performances that were crucial to the Hogs offensive performance on Saturday. It was great to see the offense getting things going even without top targets RB Rakeem Boyd and WR Treylon Burks. Hopefully we will see those guys back in action soon.

Look for the offense to build off this performance and continue to trend up this Saturday against Ole Miss. Woo Pig.
